Apply For A Grant
The Trust is unable to accept a direct application from the individual seeking support. Applications must be made on their behalf by a health professional (GP, Health Visitor etc), recognised support agency (Citizens Advice Bureau, Social Worker), or another charitable organisation – and must include a supporting letter or email.
Applications can be considered as they arise, and subject to the approval of Trustees, a decision can usually be made within one month.
There must be an identified medical AND financial need – we are unable to consider applications that only meet one of those needs.
The individual MUST live in one of the parishes of West Berkshire.
The Trustees can consider applications for a wide variety of items, services or facilities so long as the need is clear. However there are certain restrictions, for example, it is not possible to consider applications to repay debt or cover council tax, rent or mortgage payments.
Deserving cases can normally receive grants up to a maximum of £500, or greater at the discretion of the Trustees.
The application process:
Applications must be made using the form which can be downloaded here: Application Form 2022; the form must be signed by the individual and returned by email to email@example.com. If posting would be preferred, please email in the first instance to request a postal address. Further information on our criteria is available here: criteria 2022
The application form and/or supporting letter must clearly demonstrate that:
- All of the criteria as specified above have been met.
- Details of the item, service or facility for which a grant is required.
- Where larger amounts are requested – if other sources of funding are being considered.
In addition, the application must provide full disclosure of the individuals’ current financial status, such as a breakdown of all income received from employment and/or benefits, any savings and other relevant financial information.
Please be aware that we are unable to make payments to the individual; cheques can either be made payable to the supplier, or to the referring organisation.
